Welcome!
Welcome to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System as a new instructor! You will find your experience very fulfilling and rewarding. Let us tell you about our system. It is the 5th largest state higher education system, created in 1995 as a result of state law. The system was formed by merging the state universities and the community colleges with the technical colleges. There are many facts about the system at www.mnscu.edu. From that web page you can explore a large variety of links about policies, mission, and planning for the future educational needs of our stakeholders. There is also a map showing the location of the 53 campuses/sites. When all the numbers are combined, there are close to 5,000 instructors, at 32 institutions, teaching almost to 120,000 students. Now you are going to be one of the instructors and are on a new adventure! As you know, all adventures hold both expected and unexpected experiences. While this handbook covers a broad range of topics, you may still be left with many other questions. If so, the Center for Teaching and Learning's ITeach Center is a very useful resource. You will find many other tutorials there as well as information about other courses and other valuable valuable tools.
